Members of the Montclair Fire and Police departments responded to a call on Tuesday to save a kitten in distress. The kitten was discovered trapped in the wheel well of a car parked in Mount Hebron Cemetery by the vehicle's owner. Shelter Animal Control Officer Qa Jackson notified the two departments and officers and firefighters were on the scene in minutes to save the little feline, who was later taken to the township animal shelter to be cared for.

Park St Roadwork to Resume May 26 PDF Print E-mail

Please be advised that street improvement construction on Park Street between Bloomfield Avenue and Chestnut Street will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.  The contractor will work on one block at a time, starting at Bloomfield Avenue and proceeding north.  As a reminder, no parking will be allowed on the street during the day while the contractor is working.

The Department of Planning and Community Development has prepared a draft zoning map of current township zoning ordinances. The draft map shows the existing zoning for each lot in the Township and includes historic landmarks and districts, redevelopment plans and steep slopes. The draft map is available for review here. Or you may download a copy.

The township Planning Board will consider the draft zoning map at their June 22 meeting. Lackawanna Plaza Redevelopment Visioning Workshop to be Held June 2 PDF Print E-mail

Lackawanna PlazaMontclair Township will host a Lackawanna Plaza Redevelopment community meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. at Fire Department Headquarters, 1 Pine Street, Montclair. The meeting will include a short presentation, followed by an interactive visioning workshop that will help plan the future of Lackawanna Plaza and will build on what was learned since the March 30 community workshop (March 30 workshop summary available here).
